Today is the day …

My last graduate school class is tonight …

I am excited, but I will also miss the people in class and the learning we did together …

But I know that does not have to end …

We can learn together even in not in the traditional definition of or setting for learning to take place …

The Dr.Seuss book, Oh! The Places You’ll Go, is gift I got at my high school graduation (maybe my college one too) and is one I have reflected on many times today …

I found this Oh! The Places You’ll Go blog post from which explains some of the themes that make this book so popular for graduations …. (I added in some of my own ideas too)

  • In this book, Dr. Seuss writes about the ups and downs of life …
  • Dr. Suess writes about the excitement of being able to go anywhere and do anything at the beginning ….
  • Dr. Suess writes about having choices and making good decisions …
  • Dr. Suess writes about how good things happen when we are willing to try …
  • Dr. Suess also writes about how bad things happen based on some the the choices people make …
  • Dr. Seuss writes about waiting and how it is not fun but it is something that happens …
  • Dr. Suess writes about escaping to bright places to jump in and experience life …
  • Dr. Suess write about the lonely game  that we all have to play at times …
  • Dr. Suess writes about resiliency since we need to keep going no matter what happens …
  • Dr. Suess writes about the ups and downs of life that we all face and shares a postive outlook on how things will turn out …

I wonder what I will get myself into next …

As one learning journey ends …. I am sure another one is just beginning!

On the way to school this morning, Madalyn told me that she wants to be a teacher but wonders if she was have to graduate as many times as I am ….

We did find a Wonder of the Day to go along with graduating!
